Our club is home to 23 privately owned ILCAs that race Sunday afternoons over the summer months. The fleet is made up of a mix of skills and experience, age and gender who share a love of full-rig and radial-rig Lasers.
Racing format
Club Championships and Micro Regatta – using the yardstick method of scoring – and the Spring and Autumn Handicap series, which include Pursuit (*) , teams, sprints and marathon races, as well as several special event races.
Race Duty
One Sunday each season, each ILCA sailor must join the club race committee to assist with the running of the yacht and laser racing. It is a good chance to learn how courses are set up and races are conducted. More details here.
Fees
Annual fee for Club Membership + ILCA Storage + Race fees is $885. Fee payable on 1 October each year.
Laser Storage
Due to the limit of racks available for ILCAs, all sailors must actively participate during the season in at least 60% of all MYC races to retain their rack for the following season.
Before you join the club please apply for a rack. Once a rack becomes free, our race director will contact you inviting you to join the Club and store your ILCA. For a $20 deposit, you can get a key to be able to access your ILCA at any time.
