Summer Series Race 2 - mixed breezes with mixed strength. The race started on a 10kt nor’easter and finished on a 10kt sou’easter with a few dead patches in between. Course 6 to Rose Bay, Chowder South, Rose Bay, Shark Is and home, threw up its challenges for all competitors. A good run up the eastern side at the finish under “big blue” saw Esprit finish first over the line and ultimately 1st on handicap. Shear Magic crossed the line a little over a minute later under her black kite also scoring 2nd place on handicap. Third over line was Okavango Delta, sailed by four of our juniors - Will, Macie, Ollie and Charlie - with Lyn on board and 3rd on handicap. Well done - all! Jupiter, San Toy and Sirius were clearly in a different breeze and took our time getting around Shark Is, with another glassy patch near Middle Head, while the front of the fleet had their kites up and going!Thank you team Ça Va for your race committee duties.Provisional results here app.sailsys.com.au/club/23/results/series/1789/races ... TWILIGHT RACE 15The rain held off until after the racing - that’s a Teudt promise!Steady southerly breezes at around 10knots - Course 3 - Cannae, Chowder North then home. The dark clouds cleared off the pleasure craft that would normally be crowding our start line. 23 boats started - and finished. Sirius in 1st place despite the skipper sporting an injury due to over exuberant body surfing a few days earlier, Enigma in 2nd place, having just completed the return from the Shellharbour Offshore race with Esprit de Four in 3rd spot. The back end of the fleet was hard pressed to catch the front runners.Fastest around the course goes to Mondo beating Jupiter for that honour by 42 seconds, with San Toy taking out the starters prize (again) on 0 seconds.Thank you Waterhound crew for Race Committee duty. Thank you Peppertree Wines and The Quays Marine for your generous sponsorshipProvisional Results here app.sailsys.com.au/club/23/results/series/1816/races images here photos.app.goo.gl/T8FLR45yxYZEaoVi7 ...
